Columnist Natasha L. Robinson

tashaNatasha L. Robinson is a person who loves life and a person who loves the Lord. Natasha is the oldest of three girls, born to Rev. Wayne and Lola Robinson. A long time resident of the Chicagoland area, Natasha received her B.A. (University of Iowa), M.A. (Chicago State University) and J.D. (University of Wisconsin Law School) degrees. After serving as an Assistant Public Defender of Cook County for over twelve years, Natasha is the newest instructor of the Law and Public Safety Academy at Emil G. Hirsch High School, located on the south side of Chicago. As head of this academy, Natasha teaches criminal law, criminal psychology, civil and constitutional law to freshman, sophomore, and junior students, and heads an internship program for her senior students. Natasha is a member of the Illinois State Bar, and is also a faculty member of the Office of the State Appellate Defender Trial Advocacy Program in Illinois. Natasha’s life has been about the pursuit of excellence in education and giving back to her community, the same community that has so lovingly and unconditionally invested in her. She is a firm believer in the adage “I am because we are, and because we are, I am.” Natasha’s lifelong desire is to continue to serve her community and to bequeath all the blessings that have been bestowed upon her to the present and future generations, both in word and in deed.
